Sisyphus at Work

The last film director Boy Talma makes, begins to coincide with his own life, family and friends. Cinematographic ode to imagination.

Fixy

Boy Talma (Johan Heldenbergh) returns to his hometown after years together with his wife Zelda (Thekla Reuten) to shoot his new film, a sung and danced variation on the Sisyphus theme of futility. Just before the start, he learns he has only nine months to live. He decides to keep the verdict a secret, but the scenes for his film begin to coincide with his own life. He assigns roles to acquaintances, friends and loved ones in his fantasised film, while in a special friendship with 13-year-old Virginia, he embarks on a final, rebellious journey. Unbeknownst to him, all the characters accompany him to the end.
